Happy Friday, Lafayette!

Hope you all are having a Happy New Year and are off to a good start in 2026!

Now is the time of year when we set our goals and resolutions (although we fail to meet some of these).

One of my goals for Lafayette Lookout in 2026 is to host an event of some kind where the subscribers here can get together to hang out.

I want this to be a place where residents of the community stay up with what’s going on in Lafayette, but also find some community here.

Some options would be a dinner party, happy hour, family fun day/night (for those with kids) or even a dinner club (smaller groups that get together with a common interest). I am most definitely open to suggestions. But before I get ahead of myself, would you be interested in going to an event with others in the community?

One Thing to Leave the House For

Visit The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette

Go see our local art museum in downtown Lafayette that hosts rotating exhibitions of paintings, sculpture, prints, and contemporary work from local, regional, and national artists. It’s a community-focused space where you can explore interesting art shows, learn from talks and events, and even take art classes. Admission is free.

Where? 102 S 10th Street, Lafayette, IN

When? Open daily from 11 am to 4 pm

Current exhibits include Hidden Gems II and Shanghai Indiana Fusion

One Restaurant to Try

Rice & Noodle

This small, family-owned Thai take-out only spot in Lafayette is known for fresh, authentic Thai street food like Pad Thai, fried rice, curries, and drunken noodles cooked to order with lots of flavor.

Get your orders in early because this place stays busy!

My favorite thing from Rice & Noodle is drunken noodles. Absolutely amazing!
