The Arts Federation

The Arts Federation, known locally as TAF, can be found at the Wells Community Cultural Center on 638 North Street. From there, it works to keep the arts running across a 14-county stretch of north central Indiana. The organization provides educational programs, outreach to underserved communities, and grant funding to other arts groups and projects. It also hosts a gallery, runs workshops for working artists, and organizes events throughout the year.

There are three straightforward ways to get involved. You can donate, either as an individual or a business looking at sponsorship. You can volunteer at events and programs by filling out an application. Or you can become a member, which comes with access to resources, early event information, and professional development support. The gallery is open weekdays, 9 pm to 5 pm. The House with Two Ages

When I first started looking at pictures of this home, I almost skipped to the next home. Not because it’s not great (it is), but because I was looking for something a little more unique. Then, I saw the sunroom.

As I get older, the more and more a sun room full of plants sounds appealing. I used to think my grandma was odd for having one, but now I get it. Seeing the sun room made me decide this would be the one I would write about today. What came next completely sold me.

But before we talk about that, let’s discuss the main floor of the home. One, it kind of looks like something made for HGTV. And two, the kids in the home have some really cool rooms. I would be shooting on that mini hoop all day (I may still do this with my son’s mini hoop at home).

Then there's the basement. Where do we begin? This rec room comes with a fireplace, a kitchenette, and the unmistakable aura of a 1970s den. I imagine most of the home was remodeled, but when they got to the basement they said, “Stop! It’s perfect as is.”
