Happy Tuesday, Lafayette!

We have another potential rainy week ahead of us, so stay sane my friend.

To the Dinner Clubbers, I will see you tomorrow night. Enjoy!

Let’s get into it:

  • Nonprofit Spotlight

  • Moses Fowler House trivia

  • A dog’s sponsored adoption

  • The homesteady house

  • A list of curated events

Beyond Gallery & Gift Shop

Beyond Gallery & Gift Shop isn't your average gift shop. Tucked right here in Lafayette, it's part art gallery, part creative playground. You will find the place stocked with DIY craft kits, original art, prints, jewelry, stickers, cards that'll make you laugh, and gifts you won't find anywhere else.

Their products span local artists, small-batch makers from across the country, recognizable brands, and fair-trade pieces that make sure every creator gets a fair shake. They also host six gallery exhibitions a year (four of them open call, always free to display) so artists at every level get a shot at the wall. As one regular puts it, it's the shop in Lafayette most likely to make you smile.

Beyond Gallery & Gift Shop was the Small Business of the Month in March!

Leadership Lafayette

If you've ever thought, "I want to be more plugged into this community, but I have no idea where to start,” Leadership Lafayette could be it for you.

Since 1982, the program has put more than 1,700 locals through a hands-on community leadership curriculum. Participants meet roughly once a month on Thursday afternoons from September through May, touring everywhere from City Hall to the Art Museum to Camp Tecumseh, meeting community leaders, and tackling a class service project along the way.

The tuition is $2,200, and many participants are sponsored by their employer. Need-based scholarships are available for small businesses, nonprofit staff, and self-sponsored applicants.

Built in the early 1850s, the Moses Fowler House is considered Indiana's finest example of Gothic Revival residential architecture. To pull off such a feat, Fowler brought in Italian craftsmen. how did they travel from New York City to Lafayette?

Come back Friday and see how you did🤝

Meet Boomer

Boomer is a 1.5-year-old bundle of energy and personality who has been patiently waiting for his forever home since October 14th, 2025 (making him the longest Humane Society resident at over 170 days).

When Boomer first arrived, he was a bit unsure and didn’t fully trust the staff. But it didn’t take long for treats, toys, and a little patience to win him over. Now, he’s a playful, affectionate pup who absolutely loves his people. Once you become his friend, you’re his best friend for life.

Boomer is full of puppy energy and always ready for fun. He loves toys, gets excited for treats (especially French fries!), and will happily show off his skills, he already knows how to sit and shake.

Call him “Boomies,” and you’ll see his ears perk right up… sometimes followed by a case of the zoomies! He has shown that he can be dog-friendly, but meet and greets are required to ensure the perfect match. Boomer would thrive in a home ready to embrace his playful spirit and continue building his confidence. Even better, Boomer’s adoption fee is completely sponsored! All he needs now is a loving home to call his own. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and moving, Boomer is your guy.

The Homesteady House

You want to “get away from it all,” but still be 10 minutes away from a Meijer run right? If you answered yes, then this 13 acre spread east of Lafayette is probably for you. This thing has 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms (I don’t know why) and 3,261 square feet of space. Outside, you’ll find roughly 8 tillable acres waiting for whatever agricultural dream you've been workshopping. Sweet corn empire? Pumpkin patch side hustle? A wheat field for the scenery? It can be whatever you want.

There's a small orchard that’s already been established, winding trails through the back acreage, and an FBi pole barn with two finished offices and oversized commercial doors. A separate breezeway-connected structure offers upper-level living space for in-laws or your friend who took a gap year. This could be the start of a great homestead for you.
