Happy Tuesday, Lafayette!
With the first Dinner Club going so well, I’m thinking of some fun stuff to keep getting people together. Let me know if any of these sound interesting (you can reply to this email if you have ideas).
Up for any of these?
*The social studies idea would likely cover history
Let’s get into it:
A Lafayette Lookout favorite to check out
Lafayette trivia
A good doggo looking for a home
A house with land and a cul-de-sac
All the events you came here for

The Bryant
Based on your responses, The Bryant is a favorite of Lafayette Lookout subscribers. And it’s hard to argue with that! It’s a crowded place on the weekends, so if you want to go you should plan ahead.
Can’t go wrong with a steak or the carne asada fries. Maybe even a piece of the chocolate truffle cake.

(This is how I imagine it)
Ever think about what it was like visiting here in the 1800s? In my head, I picture a bustling town but I don’t know that it was necessarily that way in the beginning. One of the earliest to accommodate a growing demand for places to stop in Lafayette was a hotel.
What was the name of the first hotel in Lafayette?
You’ll have to read Friday’s edition to see if you’re right😎

Meet Ryker
Ryker has quite the story, and he’s still holding onto hope that his forever home is out there.
Ryker is 6 years old and has been with HS4GL since the very beginning, literally. He was one of the very first dogs at the shelter when they opened in July 2024, and he was even there before the building officially opened in September 2024. Before coming to HS4GL, he spent time at another shelter for an unknown period, and since then, he has found himself back at HS4GL four times.
While Ryker has always been full of life, they are starting to see the shelter environment get to him a bit. Lately, he seems more down and not quite as bright as he once was, and they would really love to see him back in a home where he can truly thrive.
He is still an insanely playful boy. You’ll almost always find him proudly carrying around a toy, ready to turn any moment into playtime.
We believe Ryker could do well with other dogs, but he will always require a proper meet and greet to ensure the best fit. He’s good with kids, though his excitement can get the best of him. He may jump when he’s feeling extra happy, so a home that can help guide him through that would be ideal. Ryker has shown that he does not do well with cats, so we are requiring a cat-free home for him.
Ryker is a resilient, loving companion who deserves stability, patience, and a family that will finally give him the forever he’s been waiting for.

The “Ready for Summer” House
2.39 acres on a cul-de-sac southeast of town. Land and a cul-de-sac is quite the combo. Built in 2000, this 3 bed/3 bath home has got 3,147 square feet of living space including a finished basement with room for a gym, rec area, or whatever you need to disappear into after a long week.
Three-car attached garage. A pool out back for the summers. Mature trees everywhere. Plus a playground for the kids.
