Together With

Happy Wednesday, Lafayette.
I hope you’re avoiding the parasite going around (and any other nasty stuff going around). Our household is down with something at the moment, hence being an hour late on this email. My apologies!
Let’s get into it:
A cool taste of the past
State fair, in Lafayette?

The event list for your week

Custom Magnets

My friends at Custom Magnets are doing something really cool. Like the name suggests, they’re making custom magnets for family memories, businesses, clubs, and teams. They offer 2 inch x 2 inch magnet sets (3 packs, 5 packs, 9 packs, and even 50 packs) so they don’t take up a ton of room on the fridge if you don’t want them to.
These magnets are great gifts for friends and loved ones, keepsakes full of memories, and great pieces for advertising your business. The business is local to the region and is really easy to work with.
They also will show up to your events if you think that’s cool (weddings, birthdays, grad parties, you name it). You can contact them on their website for that.
Lafayette Lookout readers get 10% off all orders if you use code: MAGNET10 at checkout.

Taste of the Past
Chef Lauren Reed is cooking a six-course dinner at The History Center. The menu takes its cues from the Saturday Farmers Market, which has been running here since 1839.
Tickets are $65 a person and payment is due when you reserve. A few things worth knowing before you call: no substitutions, allergens are present in the kitchen, and it's a dry event.
For reservations, call (765) 476-8411, ext. 1.

In 1853, Lafayette hosted the Indiana State Fair which was the second one the state ever held. It was also the only one Lafayette ever got. Where were the fairgrounds?

The Beam House
It’s kind of hard to believe this house was built in 1992. Most 90s homes are pretty easy to spot, but this one made me double take.
If I could cut the beamed section of the house out and put it in my house I would. That, plus the big open windows.
